Thomas Cohn
President
Tommy is a PhD student in EECS, working on algorithms and mathematical theory to help robots move faster, safer, and more elegantly. Outside of the lab, you can find him biking around Cambridge, bouldering, and cheering on sports teams from the University of Michigan, his alma mater. GradHillel has been a super positive part of Tommy’s experience at MIT, and as president, he wants to do whatever he can to make such an experience possible for all Jewish grad students.

Amelia Cavallaro

Amelia is a doctoral student researching nuclear fusion. From New Hampshire, MIT was the first place she was able to find Jewish community. She enjoys cycling, climbing, traveling, studying Jewish history, and, in particular, spending time with loved ones and building new relationships.

Kyle Buznitsky

Kyle is a 5th year PhD candidate in mechanical engineering. He grew up in New Jersey and went to Rutgers University for undergrad, where he played trumpet in the marching band. His favorite memory at Hillel is his trip to Argentina, where he was able to learn firsthand about Jewish life there.

Jason Friedman
Treasurer
In addition to being a social scientist, Jason is also a social, scientist. A PhD student in system dynamics at the Sloan School of Management, Jason studies how organizations improvise in response to irregular operating circumstances. He enjoys being Jewish, eating matzah year-round, and taking frequent coffee breaks. He is very excited to be part of the Jewish graduate community at MIT.

Andy Eskenazi
Programming VP
Hailing from the capital of Tango, Steak and Football, Andy is currently a PhD student at MIT AeroAstro trying to make aviation more sustainable. Outside of research, he enjoys playing tennis and squash, biking, and playing his beloved euphonium at the concert band. Andy is looking forward to working with GradHillel to continue building a fun Jewish community on campus!

Jenna Fromer

Jenna is a third-year PhD student in the chemical engineering department. Her research focuses on developing algorithms that combine machine learning, cheminformatics, and optimization to accelerate molecular discovery. She grew up in Allentown, PA, and in her free time enjoys playing board games, taking care of her plants, and baking (and eating) challah.

Arielle is a PhD student in Biology studying how bacteria protect themselves against viruses. Originally from Washington, D.C., she loves baking, reading, and jogging around Cambridge. She is excited to help plan fun events for the MIT GradHillel community!
